Colin Baker: The 6th Doctor

Colin Baker
A Twist In Behaviour

Same last name, different flavour. Colin Baker played the Doctor from 1984 to 1986. A very different persona was introduced to whofans during this time. In The Twin Dilema we see the Doctor transform into a very self-centered, crazy and maniacal individual. In this episode he is crass, rude and spiteful of Peri. Sarcasm is at a new high. Eventually, Colin tones these emotions down and the Doctor becomes likeable. Although slitely more arrogant than his previous incarnations, Colin's Doctor adds a flavour untasted before by fans. He brings a necessary past to the doctor and allows the character to grow in different directions.

In the promo picture to the left, standing next to the familiar console used in the mid to late 80's, he is still wearing Peter Davison's well known attire. Shortly after transforming he changes into something a bit more... noticeable. Some known trademarks in Colin's Doctor were that he hated carrot juice, dressed badly and was extremely energetic. There are many great stories associated with Colin's version of the Doctor including:

The Twin Dilema
Attack of the Cybermen
Vengeance on Varos
Mark of the Rani
The Two Doctors
Timelash
Revelation of the Daleks
The Mysterious Planet (Trial of the Timelord Part I)
Mindwarp (Trial Of The Timelord Part II)
Terror of the Vervoids (Trial Of The Timelord Part III)
The Ultimate Foe (Trial Of The Timelord Part IV)
